As they say in the Movies “I’m Back”. I recently attended the Regional Chambers twice yearly congress in Perth, this brings together many of our fellow chambers to discuss not only policy and advocacy items which we are taking to both state and federal government but also shared challenges that regional businesses are facing. One of the items we are going to be advocating as Regional Chambers is Local Procurement and the review of the Local Government Procurement Policy which is being reviewed for the first time since 1995.
Chloe and myself attended the Small Business Corporations State Business Awards, it brings together the winners of the many regional chambers Business Awards. We were represented by Illegal Tender Distillery who were a finalist. Great to see the team from Business Local and RSM who were supporting a number of business’s who also made finalists in different categories.
Aussie Home Loans ran a National Competition, the results were fantastic. “Win Your Mortgage Paid For A Year” during the months of September and October. Every appointment completed was entered for a chance to win. There were over 14000 entries and today we had the pleasure of presenting the winning cheque to Aussie Geraldton’s lucky clients Marshall Burton and Alysha Couzner. This couldn’t have happened to a more deserving couple and will really help when they move into their new home this weekend.
A busy week ahead catching up on emails and correspondence. The Retail committee meet this afternoon as do the Marine Services Cluster. The Chamber continues to support business’s and opportunities across the Mid West and if you hear of opportunity or how we might help, please feel free to contact us.
