Only a week till the Economic Summit happens, tickets selling fast, this time we are having the summit at the Orana Theatre complex with the refreshments and lunch at Posh opposite. A great line up of speakers and full of information. We look forward to seeing many of you there and at the end of the day its over to GG Pumps and Electrical premises for the co-hosted Business Afterhours with Rio Tinto. You don’t have had to have gone to the summit to attend, but you do need to be a member of the chamber. If your membership is outstanding and you would like to go onto a payment plan please ring and speak with Chloe. Remember the chamber is a self-supporting organisation with no government assistance.
Last Friday saw our first golf day in over 3 years, the weather was nothing short of spectacular with brilliant sunshine and no wind to speak of. The 9 teams had a great time belting the hell out of that poor little white ball. We were lucky enough to have a great number of prize sponsors which was most appreciated.
Next Wednesday the Chamber in conjunction with RSM-Business Local, Bankwest and the City of Geraldton will host a morning tea for owners of small business to celebrate Small Business Day. This will be held at POSH at 10.30 and our guest speaker will be Peggy Strudwick-Brown who created a small business which took her from Mother to Millionaire.
A most entertaining speaker, so come along and hear Peggy recite her story and maybe pick up some tips which could benefit you. Please register with the chamber so we get catering right.
Last week also saw the 2017 Innovation Expo, his brought 30 suppliers of remote operative and advance electronic solutions to Geraldton. This was a great success and a number of exhibitors are very interested in returning next year. The application of this technology could be applied to so many industries in our region and hope to build on the success of this year.
Have a great week.
