The Mid West Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s tenth Mid West Economic Summit was a huge success with 200 tickets sold and 28 speakers gracing the stage at the Queens Park Theatre.
Reflecting the Summit theme ‘united in diversity’, the extensive program of speakers represented the Mid West’s distinct and growing business community.
Attendees heard from people from a range sectors including renewable energy, resources and agriculture, to education and tourism, who discussed how their organisation contributes to, or will contribute to the Mid West economic landscape in the future.
During couch sessions delegates had the opportunity ask questions, discuss issues and opportunities with the speakers and the opportunity to network with key players from the region’s business community, government agencies and industry representatives.
The Mid West Economic Summit encompassed three events commencing with the Taste of the Mid West dinner on February 17. The region’s best food minds from Skeetas Restaurant, Dalgleish Catering, Tarts & Co and Central Regional TAFE joined forces to create the Taste of the Mid West dinner. This unique dining experience took place under the beautiful lights of Geraldton’s iconic St Francis Xavier Cathedral, and showcased the best produce the region has to offer.
The Summit was then followed by a Business After Hours Event at the Geraldton Port’s Authority. The event, hosted by the Ports Authority, Svitzer and the Geraldton Fisherman’s Co-operative, provided another networking opportunity and the chance for Summit attendees and MWCCI members to continue discussions and build relationships.
